Ademo Mueller, the journalist behind a popular activism site copblock.org, is facing 21 years in prison for publishing conversations with law enforcement officials that he says were on-the-record while investigating a police brutality case in the state of New Hampshire. Pete Eyre from the website copblock.org, which published the video, joins RT's Kristine Frazao for the details into the case.
It started when Adam Mueller caught on tape a school officer "body / face slam" a student onto a table.
Now he is facing felony charges of wiretapping due to a (not unique) New Hampshire law that says both parties must be privy they are being recorded.
Some have argued that this law is to protect the rights of citizens while, right now, it is being used to railroad journalists and citizens who feel it is their right and even duty to record police officers who are in the role of public service.
