The case of two troubled teens captivated psychiatrists at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine for months. Eleven residents and four attending psychiatrists read up on their symptoms and met once a week to discuss them.
They stipulated early on that Edward was, indeed, a vampire. But since he was supposedly 100 years old, not 17 as he appeared, his adolescent moodiness suggested arrested development.
As for Bella, her self-loathing and willingness to sacrifice herself made her especially vulnerable to a dangerous relationship. Treatment plan: cognitive behavioral therapy to counter her automatic negative thoughts.

Edward's moodiness could be attributed to the fact he has to keep going to school even though he is 100 yrs old. That would certainly keep me moody.

I definitely think medication is in order. Jake's got testosterone overload causing him to act out aggressively towards vampires. I think occupational therapy and medication could do the trick.

I agree with your assessment.
In Jake's case I think slowly introducing him to Vampires in a neutral setting may go far in cognitive realignment - of course - with qualified therapists present. I would not recommend self-help at this juncture for Jake.

I think he may have borderline personality disorder and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy could be advisable.

This week its Twilight last month it was some other show or film but what they are REALLY attempting to do by "diagnosing" these popular characters is keep psycho/pharma access to the youth market by appealing to 16-24 year olds at their PERCEIVED attention level and ATTEMPTING to speak their language & terms.
I can just see some fat (f NOT ph) gray haired pharma exec sitting in their corner office watching CNN MoneyWatch & seeing this & thinking to himself, "We should be more in tuned to their level because I have no idea WHAT they are talking about." Its insulting really.
