Suicidal 75 yr old Woman Tasered

A 75-year-old woman was tasered by Rohnert Park police in the lobby around 8:00am Friday. She walked in the main doors and threatened to kill herself with a knife she was brandishing about.

The woman ignored orders to put down the knife, lifted her shirt and held the knife to her belly, Taylor said. The woman said she wanted to die and made stabbing motions toward herself. She was shot with a Taser gun in the legs and chest to prevent her from stabbing herself, Taylor said.

She, however, did suffer a cut to the back of her head after falling from the tasering.

She was taken to Kaiser Hospital in Santa Rosa where she was placed on a 24 hour psychiatric hold.

The 75 yr old elderly woman was clearly distraught and it seems that her brandishing a knife where she knew police would be, is a clear cry for help. I wonder what thoughts on her being tasered under these circumstances? I have to hit the sack right now as I think on this a little while.

For crying out loud. The woman was 75 years old. How hard would it have been for these idiotic cops to dis-arm her? Oh hell let's just taser her. All the other cops are doing it and getting away with murder. You know Digits, I'm very concerned about this taser business. Our Police Minister Der (yes that's what she's called behind her back. Even the cops call her that) Judy Spence has armed all police in Queensland as of next year with tasers. This scares the hell out of me. The cops here usually just shoot someone (unstable) now they get to kill them with tasers. They are even adjusting their cop belts so the taser guns can fit. I have one thing to say about tasers. THEY ARE ILLEGAL AND SHOULD BE OUTLAWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
