PINELLAS PARK - Within an hour of robbing a CVS pharmacist at knifepoint early Saturday, a 26-year-old Seminole man told his mother, who promptly turned him in, police said.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

I can imagine how hard it must've been.

Good for her. It's so difficult for a mother to do what is necessary. None of us has the right to deprive another of their bottom.

Right on Brenda. My same sentiments. Had she *saved* him, she could have killed him. As it is now, maybe he has a chance. Plus she did the right thing in my opinion too.

I know, like you said, how difficult that must have been. But if she ever google's her name and finds this, maybe she'll see the support she has. It's my hope. :)

*You* know, Brenda, what I mean...Those dark lonely hours when we start to second guess ourselves although we did the right thing.... But it was such a new action and so uncomfortable a feeling. I swear. She sounded like she'd had some Al-Anon or Nar-Anon.

My mother is going through something similar with my brother and it is tearing her apart.

I know that has to be hard. It's always hardest with family. I hope your Mom can find peace in knowing she didn't cause it, she can't control it, and she cannot cure it.

I know it's hard to take a family problem like this and go get support [like from Al-Anon or Nar-Anon] but when I did, I never understood how I didn't before.

My happiness increased, as did my serenity. Knowing I wasn't alone did miracles.

I hope your Mom has something similar...?

My mom did Al Anon years ago, but I don't think she's been active in a long time. He's convinced her that he's not drinking or doing drugs and she believes him.

I say, if it waddles, quacks, and looks like a duck, you've probably got a duck.

Digits,His Mom did the right thing,And I detect she did it because she knew he broke the law ,As well it seems like another problem pre-existed,Maybe that's why she thought he might over dose,For his safety she called the law to keep him from harming himself. Was he hooked on Pharmaceuticals or trying to kill himself,As a cry for help?Either way he is going to get what ever he needs now. When a Pharmacy is robbed it's for drugs to sell or use to make (Meth) or some other combination of cocktail,But as I read this it seems he was not in this category.Mark

He'd stolen a lot of drugs. She said she feared he would overdose. I believe that, too. But whatever reason, she's probably like all of us and second guessing her decision. It's sad. Because his addiction will blame her too. But...maybe not. Maybe this was the bottom he needed. [Like Brenda alluded to.]

I hope he does get what he needs Mark. I really do. He is currently residing in hell.
